CANON BC-05, BC06 Refill Instruction

1. Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.

2. Locate the three vent holes on the longest side of the cartridge at the opposite end from the print head. Each hole leads to a separate color chamber.

3. Use an awl to take out three plugs in the holes.

4. Insert a toothpick or unbent paper clip into the holes to verify the color of the ink in each of the three color chambers — yellow, magenta, cyan
5. Tape over the two holes you aren't currently filling to avoid accidental contamination with the wrong color of ink.

6. Using the syringe draw 6 ml of ink from the plastic bottle. Insert the needle fully through the hole.

7. S-L-O-W-L-Y inject the ink into the sponge.

8. Recognize that each color is not used equally, and therefore, only one color will take the full 6 ml.

9. Press the printhead on a paper towel several times to check if any excess ink drops. Set in a little container for 30 minutes as a drip precaution.

10. Put three plugs back. Clean the printhead with a paper towel. Make sure no dripping, then install the cartridge to make a test print.

Suggest refilling sequence Yellow > Magenta > Cyan. Clean the syringe with water and shake several times to let residual waste out before different color refilling.

* Refill immediately once cartridge empty.
